Oh! I have not been here in forever! But here's my recap of working backstage of the runway shows of Fashion Focus 2010!
Macy's Incubator Presents: Chicago Fashion Incubator Designers!
- I helped seat the lovely people of this event.. Anyone from Kirsten Goede of Objets d'Envy, an amazing jewelry line that is hand crafted with Swarovski crystals, to Billy Dec, the owner and Chicago celeb who owns the greatest restaurants Sunda, Rockit Chicago, Rockit Wrigley, and amazing club, The Underground.
- The models were provided by the amazing Factor Women Model Management, which, if you all don't know, was formerly Elite Model Management (Chicago & Atlanta segment).
- I love seeing familiar faces.. Anna Hovet (Designer), Jess Audey (Designer), Lara Miller (Director of Macy's CFI), Melody Laviste (Coordinator for the City of Chicago), Horacio Nieto (Designer), Kirsten Goede (Jewelry Designer), Billy Dec (Restaurant- guru), his beautiful wife, Katherine Dec, Angela Carroll (Model), Marguerite O'Keefe (Model), and many, many more.
Mario Tricoci "Make Me A Model"
- I was the head dresser for this event.. Working backstage with the production team, in which Lisa Marie McComb was the head lady. She's such an amazing person. She's a stylist, working out of the big cities, LA and NY. Occasionally coming to Chicago to work as well. I met her a while back at the Joffrey Ballet Couture & Cocktails event, in which I was head dresser there as well!
- The models for this event were provided by Ford Model Management.
- Working backstage, I was with Danny Murrillo, a close colleague of mine, who in tune.. Does exactly what I do. We're a team! We were put on the job by Kristi Porcelli, who is a freelance stylist and styles Nordstrom fashion shows/ previews as well. She's such an angel and has been there for us from day one!
- We were in charge of the dressers that had signed up to work that day, the models that were checking in, the fittings that were not done, and assigning the jobs to each and every person that needed to be posted somewhere. It was such an amazing experience, I cannot explain how great it was to see familiar faces!
- Sarah (Assistant Stylist), Tess O. (Assistant Stylist), Lisa Marie McComb (Stylist, Producer of the show), Jennifer (Assistant to Lisa Marie), Diana (Marketing Consultant), Kristi Porcelli (Stylist), Robyn (Model), Evgenia (Model).
Dress Code
- I was a dresser for this show, and needless to say, I was not a fan. Nena Ivon, who is an instructor and very well known woman in the fashion community, was the producer of this show. Overall, garments were wonderful and very creative and I was amazed that they did this as students.
- I believe the show was run by students, which is probably why it was a little confusing and not thorough.. Despite that, it went smoothly on the runway :)
- As always, the familiar faces always make me happy: Shaya (Model), Akilah (Model), Kelly C. (Model), Nathan (Model), Samantha B. (Model), Kel (Model), Samantha LeCaux (Model), and Elena (Model).
StyleChicago Presents: The Art of Fashion
- This event, was beyond amazing.. Thank you for everything StyleChicago and Katie Heika! I dressed for this show, and per usual, it was amazing.. So glad to have met some new people backstage! Sadna, and a few others.. <3
- The girls were amazing and everything went well.. Zzazz Productions, with Tracey Tarantino, who by the way, is amazing at producing fashion shows..
- So good to see familiar faces: Angela Carroll (Model), Kel (Model), Sharaun (Model), Mereille (Model), Samantha LeCaux (Model), Lizzy (Model), Katrina (Model), Marguerite (Model), Paul Sisti (Designer), Melody Laviste (Coordinator for the City of Chicago).
Fashion Week was amazing to me. I got no sleep, awaited the next day and never complained about having to work. It's something I love to do and I only hope that you (my readers) find that some day..
Welcome to the beginning.
