5th Annual Sidewalk Sale Recap

As you already know, I assisted with the smooth sailing of the 5th Annual Chicago Sidewalk Sale in Daley Plaza.

Minus the fact that I suffered from heat exhaustion on the 1st day when I got home, all else went perfectly. I ended the day early today (at 3:30pm), for health reasons- I felt that I was going to pass out :(

So! On the other hand.. The event was a huge success! Of course, we sold more on the 1st day, as it was not nearly as toasty outside. Our designers were able to get their name out there, sell their merchandise and engage with their clients who actually came out to see them. This was such an amazing opportunity.

I was behind the scenes, per usual.. Or, technically out in the open (haha?). I was running around to ensure my designers were okay, tended to and happy with everything. I was also responsible for ensuring models were in their looks, knew what shoes went with their looks and what pace they were to go at during the runway (1st day was bad. 2nd day, best)

It was a lot of work and sweat was shed over these last 2 days (literally) to make sure the boat smoothly sailed. And at the end of the day, I'm happier than ever that I receive these opportunities and wouldn't trade them for the world.

Kiran Advani paid me in food and drinks. That is really all I ask! And my other surprise incentive? Lunch at NoMi Garden at the Park Hyatt :)

Here are a few shots of my favs..

Promising that my children will be in all Sam & Coop!

The Style Cooperative bowties are the cutest things!

Marco from BMC iced me out with a lovely tee!

See you folks at the next event :)
