Updates with Alexandra :)

Hey all.
So here's what I've been up to as of late...

The industry is getting busier as it gets warmer, so what does that mean? That I've been busier. And I love it more than anything in the world.

March 3rd - Bridal Suite at Nordstrom Oak Brook Center.
I worked alongside Kristi Porcelli for the bridal event that was being thrown. It was an informal event, so dressing the models in 15 minute increments for them to stand on platforms. It was a great event! There was bubbly and an actual wedding cake! Some fun little desserts (that we of course ate after everyone left).

There were only I believe 2 brides, and the rest were the bridesmaids, so a few wedding dresses and adorable bridesmaids dresses (where were these back in the 90's?). We got this beautiful Nicole Miller bridal dress in... So amazing! I wanted it!

Ended up working a 9 hour day and drove back to the city with Kristi. It was a long day! Full of running around... beginning stages of running the garments to the alterations department, because we had a not- so- great steamer (I feel like everyone should have a Jiffy). Then, re- tagging, restocking and everything else that's fun.

March 5 - Cosmetic Trend Show at Michigan Avenue.
I worked alongside Erica Brandon, Fashion Coordinator for Nordstrom, Amy and Katie, Buyer for Claires at this show.. Only us! At the CTS shows, there's a LOT of talking, so the wait time is ridiculous. The make up artists want to talk about the new trends with make up, what products they use, etc. It's amazing how early these ladies come out to hear about this! A lady ran so fast to grab a seat that she fell and spilled coffee all over the carpet :(

But! Amazing that we have lots of time, because in between sets, I'm able to get things done, re-tagged and restocked.. The faster you get it done, the happier you'll be :)
The shoes and dresses were amazing! Veronica (model) actually purchased one of the dresses (Marc Jacobs) another model was wearing, so that she could wear it in front of her new man in Costa Rica :)

March 19 - Elie Tahari Personal Appearance at Michigan Avenue.
Unfortunately, Elie Tahari was unable to make it to the appearance. I heard that there was a death in the family and that he was in Israel. No need to worry, his team was there to the rescue.
They handled the show.. So there was someone backstage assisting with the styling of the garments... I was a dresser for this show, so nothing fancy. Fun! Only two looks, so it was over in literally 3 minutes.
I worked with Erica, Kristi and Katie this time! I love those girls like sisters.. They're a few of the most amazing, talented and knowledgeable ladies I know :)

April 2 - Macy's Men's Designer Event x Men's Health Style Editor.
The style editor of Men's Health Magazine came out to talk to some men about what the newest trends were. This event was informal, so the men walked around for 20 minutes in some of the best garments I've ever seen! I believe there were only about 3 or 4 sets.

Newest male brand that I've encountered and love? Moods of Norway! One of the creators, Stefan Dahlkvist actually came to the event and gave me this awesome pin of a tractor-- their logo! He wore a bright red blazer, but looked mighty dapper in it! He had everyone wearing the pins.. One girl even used them as earrings.. So clever and cute!

Ending this on a sweet note.. I love everything happening now :)
