Restaurateur Billy Dec throws a party for his 1st 10,000 Twitter followers to keep the Blues thriving!
Chicago, IL- After the smashing success of Billy Dec’s recent Social Media Anniversary Party on February 3rd where Dec, his talking avatar & his social media network raised over $6,000 in two hours soon after the great “Blizzard 2011″ for the Greater Chicago Food Depository (http://bit.ly/eYWxzp), he is now turning the party he promised to his first 10,000 followers on Twitter, into another opportunity to raise money for a great local cause.
The organization Dec is choosing to support is the Chicago Blues Beautillion that pairs established Blues artists with young emerging Blues musicians in a wonderful mentoring program to keep the Chicago Blues alive and thriving! “I have been a fan of the Blues my whole life, and love my new found friends on Twitter, so thought it would be super cool to combine them in a way that would not only be a blast for all, but would help young local blues talent reach their dreams & create a bright future in music strongly associated with our culture” Dec says.
The event will take place on Thursday, Saturday, February 19 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Dec’s restaurant Rockit Bar & Grill (22 W. Hubbard). Guests of the event will enjoy signature items from Rockit, creative cocktails, a silent auction, raffles and most exciting, a live performance by various featured members of the Chicago Blues Beautillion.
